Marimekko Onnellinen Pink and Magnolia Pink Pillow Set

I selected these two to be featured as a set because they both feature the same color scheme of pink, green and yellow, yet one is a stripe pattern and one is a floral pattern. Both designs are Marimekko designs – one Marimekko design is great, putting two together is irresistible!

This Mod Diva Pillow Set features Maimekko Fabrics Onnellinen Pink and Magnolia Pink. Onnellinen features a modern yet classic stripe design while Magnolia features a stunning floral motif.  Stand-alone both designs are beautiful, but put these two very different styles (but the same color scheme) together and they enhance each other's beauty even more.  The combination of commingling a stripe pattern with a floral pattern is an interior designer tip that can easily add a designer look to any room.

Fabric weights and fabric texture of each design are the same; so as different as they are in print, the feel and fabric weight is the same – which helps keep the overall look balanced.

This pillow pair would definitely look great and really shine on a neutral colored couch; especially, if there are other home accessories items in the same room picking up some of the colors in these pillows. For example, a pink candle, pink or green accent colors in a rug, etc.

On a dark colored couch, they will really brighten up any room.  On a darker setting, these pillows will make the room more youthful, modern and highly stylish.  They would definitely be a focal point of the room, if the couch and setting are on the darker side. 

The Mod Diva Messenger / Slouch Bag

The Mod Diva Messenger / Slouch Bag was designed while I was in need for a nice travel bag that needed to meet the following criteria: lightweight, ability to carry cross-body, many pockets as well as large pockets to fit water bottle, magazines, etc., roomy to fit neck pillow and possibly laptop. I also wanted a high-quality bag that would last. Instead of looking for the perfect bag – I created it! Besides looking absolutely gorgeous, all its functions make this bag super versatile and functional.

Tips for Cleaning Throw Pillows

1. Inside Out: To keep the colors of the pillow covers vibrant for as long as possible, I would recommend turning the covers inside out before putting the covers in the washing machine.

2. Get Cold: Covers are machine washable – use cold water to keep colors nice and vibrant.  

3. Go with Liquid: Use liquid detergent versus powder to avoid residue.

4. Once per Month: Pillow covers should be washed once a month.

5. Twice per Year: Pillow inserts should be washed 2 x per year.  Check care label of your inserts but most of them (down and synthetic) are machine washable nowadays.  No need to bring them to the dry cleaner where they will be soaked with chemicals.  

6. Fully Dry: Pillow inserts should be dried fully as dampness left in the pillow can lead to mold.
